Back in Class: Exploring the Black experience at UF
What was it like being a Black student at UF in the ‘70s? In an upcoming online event, Dr. Travis Smith, aka Dr. Tee, will speak with Dr. Betty Stewart-Fullwood, a three-time Gator and a retired UF senior lecturer who will share impressions and stories about that time.
This insightful conversation will cover themes of student life, the emergence of African American sororities and fraternities at UF, and progress through protests like the Black Thursday event. The webinar will take place on Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.
