As COVID cases rise, some guidance and reminders

As the state of Florida sees increased cases of COVID-19, unfortunately so does UF. At present, approximately 100 UF employees are currently being withheld from work due to having tested positive for COVID-19 or as the result of being a close contact of someone who has.

UF encourages all its employees to get vaccinated. Vaccinated individuals are less likely to have serious illness and transmit the virus to others. If an employee tests positive for COVID-19 or has been in contact with someone who has, they should call UF Health Screen, Test & Protect at (352) 273-9790 for instructions about next steps. For the latest related workplace guidance, please refer to the UFHR website.

In last week’s Campus Brief, UF administrators reiterated their commitment to restoring normal operations this fall and continuing to make the vaccine free and widely available. As a reminder, faculty and staff can schedule a vaccine appointment, or COVID test, by logging into ONE.UF. For more information, visit the Screen, Test & Protect website.
